Stagecoach Group has cut its CO2 emissions from its bus fleet in the UK by more than 188,000 tonnes over the past 8 years through use of a hi-tech fuel additive.Envirox™ used by 8,300 buses and coaches in UK and North America

The Envirox™ fuel additive, which was developed by scientists in Oxford, has achieved a 5% annual reduction in fuel consumption and associated emissions.

The carbon saving to date alone equates to the average CO2 emissions produced by nearly 25,000 UK residents in a year, based on official Government statistics.

Use of the fuel additive has also helped customers and communities across the UK benefit from lower fares and better local air quality.

Stagecoach announced the results as it confirmed it had signed a new three-year supply agreement for the Envirox™ fuel saving additive.
